This summer, join us for

JAILBREAKERS!

Set Free to Share God’s Love.

It’s almost time for Vacation Bible School, three days of faith and fun!

This year, we will follow Paul and Silas as they spread the Good News of God’s love, making new friends, changing people’s lives, and even breaking out of jail!

In Acts 16, Paul and Silas meet Timothy, a young man who became an important leader in the church. From him, we’ll learn that you’re never too young to share God’s love with others. We will also make friendship bracelets that our Jailbreakers can share with their friends outside of church.

Later on, Paul and Silas meet Lydia, a woman who dyed and traded in purple cloth. When Lydia heard the Good News of God’s love from Paul and Silas, she welcomed them all into her home, and everyone in her household was baptized. From her, we’ll learn how God’s love can open our hearts to receive others. We will also do some fabric dying of our own, making purple tie-die shirts that the Jailbreakers can wear proudly.

And finally, we’ll hear how Paul and Silas were thrown in jail for upsetting the applecart, but God’s love was so strong that the walls of the prison couldn’t hold it! From this experience, we’ll learn that there’s nothing more powerful than God’s love!

On Sunday morning, we will celebrate all we’ve learned and done by wearing our new tie-die shirts and singing the early American folk hymn, “How can I keep from singing.”

YOUTH AND ADULT VOLUNTEERS

Do you want to add a little extra joy to your summer? If so, come to VBS!

There are lots of ways that you can lend a hand: helping in the kitchen, assisting with arts and crafts, shepherding children between activities, telling the Bible stories, decorating the spaces, or helping with clean-up. The time commitment is small, and many hands make light work. Come be a part of this important ministry. Reach out to Fr. Ted if you’re interested or have questions.
