All are invited to join us for a Mixed Media Stations of the Cross workshop with artist Dee Perconti.
The workshop is free, but donations are welcomed for Rapha International.

9:30-10:00 am | Welcome and light refreshments
10:00 am-12:00 pm | Guided workshop and tour of Stations
12:00-12:30 pm | Lunch break (bring your own, or subs provided for $5)
12:30-4:00 pm | Continue working on your collage art until you are finished! You are free to leave or stay as long as you need.

No art experience is needed! You are welcome to bring a friend and you can create a station together. As a group, we will work collaboratively to collage all 14 Stations of Christ’s journey to the cross.

Each group will be given a sample photo of your station but we want you to  bring your own ideas and creativity to your canvas. There is no right or wrong way to make art for Jesus.

We will provide torn canvas, beads, jewelry, wood pieces, fabric and many found objects for you to use. I encourage you to bring elements from home if you would like to use them in your work. The canvas will be provided for you.

I have been astounded to see the  beautiful, touching and passionate work that comes out of these workshops. I can hardly wait to see your art! — Dee Perconti

About the artist

"I have been a mixed media collage artist for 10 years. After having painted in oil and acrylic for many years it became apparent to me that traditional painting was not my talent. I felt that my work was uninspired and unoriginal. So I decided to tear up my paintings and collage with them.  I found my voice!

Collage is thrilling to me because it has a mind of its own. The elements and textures build upon each other and lead to the next section. It is perfect for an expressive artist. And I love using fabric, wood, stone, paint, paper, jewelry and found objects.

When I was invited to create a 14 Stations of the Cross exhibition for Lent 2023, I was grateful for the chance to express my statement of Unity through Christ.

I felt strongly that Jesus should be represented in different countries in their native clothing. We have one world where we have brothers and sisters of all kinds no matter what they look like or what they wear. Jesus is universal and He died to save us all. I am humbled and thankful that the Stations will be exhibited again this Lent. World unity is still very much on my mind. "

Dee's work has been featured at the Mirella Cimato Gallery, Gilbert Chapel Gallery, Carrollwood Cultural Center, .Bella Unica Art Gallery and Events, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Soft Water Studios, Central Christian Church Gallery, Morean Arts Center, Hillsborough Community College, Vinoy Hotel, St. Pete Beach Art Show, City Center Corporate Offices, Rapha International Corporate Offices, 100 Women in Art History, Global Offensive Against Trafficking, Florida CraftArt, and St. Thomas' Episcopal Church. She is pleased to have collectors nationally and internationally.
