John Evans Lynching Memorial Gathering

On November 12, 1914, John Evans was lynched in St Petersburg by a mob of 1500 men, women and children. A memorial plaque is located at the site of this lynching; Martin Luther King Street and 2nd Avenue South. On Sunday November 8th, at 12:15, after the 10:15 service, we will gather at this memorial plaque for a short period of reflection, remembrance and prayer. All are invited and encouraged to join us as we remember and repent that a life was so violently stolen in the city we call home. Contact Betsy Adams for more information.
