Cathedral 2027 Faith Filled Financial Commitment

Every Sunday, we arrive expecting something. We expect the doors to be open and a warm welcome. We expect prayers to be offered, Scripture proclaimed, and music to lift our hearts. We expect a place where children can grow in faith, friendships can deepen, burdens can be shared, and God's presence can be encountered. 

Yet none of these things simply happen. They grow from the generosity of God's people. 

For several years, pledges and gifts have not fully covered the cost of the Cathedral's annual ministry. Additional income available to us through 2032 has allowed us to bridge that gap. Because we know this income is finite, we have an important window of opportunity: to strengthen the financial foundation of St. Peter's while intentionally investing in the growth of our congregation and its ministry.

Our stewardship theme, Where Love Takes Root, reflects what we are doing at St. Peter's. Rather than waiting for growth before investing in ministry, we are preparing the soil for growth now.

With the addition of Mother Miranda as Curate, St. Peter's now has a rounded out staff, allowing us to give sustained attention to three areas vital to our life together: strong Christian formation and ministry with adults, children, youth, and families; deeper engagement with the community beyond our walls; intentional welcome and incorporation of newcomers; and the ability to remain pastorally present and responsive to those who need our care.

This is an investment in people and in ministry—in children and young people growing in faith, neighbors discovering that St. Peter's is here for them, and newcomers finding a vibrant Christian community where they can belong, serve, and grow closer to God.

Everything we have begins as gift. Our generosity grows from gratitude for all that God has first given us. What we offer together becomes the soil in which ministry can flourish. We prepare that soil faithfully, trusting God to give the growth.
