BBC - Gathering to remember John Evans

On Sunday, November 16 at 12:15 p.m., we will gather for 15 minutes of reflection, remembrance, and prayer at the John Evans Memorial Plaque, located at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (Ninth) Street and Second Avenue South, near the U-Haul Self-Storage building at Tropicana Field.

On November 12, 1914, John Evans, a Black man, was lynched in St. Petersburg by a mob of 1,500 men, women, and children. We come together to grieve this violent loss and to honor his memory in the city we call home.
