Aging and Spirituality

This four-week program will explore our ideas about aging, including our cultural preconceptions. We will explore the “faithline” of our lives and the high and low points where we have felt God’s presence or perhaps distance, and have the opportunity to share these with each other.

We will reflect on “meaning,” “purpose,” “wisdom,” and what we each might offer to our families, church, and communities from the wisdom gained from life. We will talk about the broad scope of what ministry and aging can mean and look at topics that we might want to consider more deeply in later programs, such as retirement, wellness, grief and loss, caring for others as we age, intergenerational issues, and others.

This class is co-led by Canon Ethan Cole, the Rev. Elma Rosenberg, and Rita Sewell, R.N., our faith community nurse. Please indicate your interest to Canon Cole (ecole@spcathedral.com) to help us with planning.
